About 21Five

The Canadian source for gospel-centred books and products.

21Five is Canada’s newest Christian bookstore curating a collection of the best gospel-centred, God-glorifying books and products. We aim to help others deepen their faith and embody it in all areas of life, reflecting the hope and love of Jesus Christ in their relationships, churches and communities.

We have a local, physical store in Ancaster (Hamilton), Ontario on Redeemer University’s campus, with many more resources online. Available to ship across Canada at great prices, 21Five offers a unique collection of resources marked by a commitment to the authority of scripture and an emphasis on the Lordship of Jesus Christ over all of creation.

Many of the products (especially books) come from abroad and can be costly and complicated for Canadians to bring home. Check out what we’ve gathered, doing the heavy lifting of getting it here for you. If there’s something we don’t have, or you’re looking for a bulk order for your church, school or bible study, let us know and we will do our best to get it for you! Churches and Schools receive a 20% discount on their orders.

The Story

Originating as the campus bookstore for Redeemer university in the late 1980s, the store was relaunched in 2021 as 21Five, a local and country-wide outlet seeking to fill a need left by the closing of many Christian bookstores across Canada in recent years. Still serving the university campus with textbooks, apparel and other resources, 21Five’s purpose expanded to providing books and products that explore and reflect the Reformed tradition across Canada.

The Name

Our name comes from Rev. 21:5 where Christ proclaims from his throne, “I am making all things new!” It paints a vision for the Christian life that cherishes the beauty of creation, laments the brokenness of the fall, and offers a magnificent hope for the redemption of all things in Christ who holds the entire cosmos together (Col 1:17).

The Connection

At Redeemer, students are discipled through an education that prepares them to follow Christ in their careers and callings. A Christian worldview is applied to all teaching, research, learning and living because “every square inch” of creation - every discipline - is worthy of study under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. His redemptive work is ongoing and cosmic in scope.

Redeemer’s Statement of Basis and Principles

The Cross and our Calling

At Redeemer University, the word Reformed refers to a rich, living, distinct, Christian tradition that acknowledges the breadth and depth of the larger church, including all who belong to Jesus Christ. Redeemer's spiritually vibrant campus community includes representation from over 45 denominations. Learn more at the What does Reformed mean? page.

Disclaimers

21Five is an ancillary operation of Redeemer University, a charitable organization. All proceeds go to support the mission of discipling students through a university education to follow Christ wherever he calls them.

Redeemer does not endorse every idea in every book but seeks to provide biblically faithful resources in the Reformed tradition with space for others (who may have different secondary and tertiary theological positions) to contribute. Like many Protestant streams flowing from the Reformation, the Reformed tradition stands under the authority of Scripture, allowing it to shape our entire view of the world. Redeemer and 21Five aim to remain faithful to this commitment, acknowledging we do so imperfectly. If you have concerns about any products found in our store, please contact 21five@redeemer.ca.
